Amarillo to Miami

Today I leave for Miami via United from Amarillo.  It is difficult to get a flight and have a reasonable arrival time from our city, so you haves to decided if you want to arrive mid afternoon or midnight.  I chose mid afternoon, and that leave a little margin for possible flight cancellations and leaves the option to arrive at midnight, if needed.  We, the Insight Cuba travel group are advised to meet at the gate at 5 am, so my hotel/shuttle options were limited.  The reason for this extreme time to "gather the group", as we were explained to during a conference call is due to the time that is needed to process travelers going to Cuba and to allow ample time to pass through security.  Okay, I think, whatever.  That was the driving force for my hotel choice.
I have a reservation at the Miami Airport Hotel.  It is very conveniently located in the E concourse of the airport on the second floor.  It is right smack dab in the center of the airport and you are surrounded by all the usual airport food options, if you don't care to take advantage of the hotel restaurant.   I did reserve a "single" room, and that is exactly what  I got.   As you can see, the closet is over a chair and lamp and you have only two hangers.  The room is clean and fairly quiet.  The wifi is "owned" by the hotel, you can purchase for about $5 a half hour of internet service or for about $9 a full 24 hours of internet service.  I chose to reactivate my Boingo account and for the same full day price I got an entire months worth of wifi, not that I will have access to it for a month, but its there if I need it.
I give the Miami Airport hotel 5 stars for convenience and 3 stars for value, it's a little bit pricey for the square footage.
